Welcome
We are excited to welcome you to Stanford Avenue Elementary School. Parent engagement is an important component in a student's success in school. Ongoing research shows that family engagement in schools improves student achievement. We welcome your participation at school and highly encourage you to join us as a volunteer. We encourage all parents to take an active role in their children’s education. It is by working together that we can provide the highest quality education for our children.
Student Progress, Report Cards and Parent Conferences
A report card is provided to parents/guardians of all students enrolled at school for fifteen or more days within a reporting period. Report cards are issued three times during the school year (November, March, and June). Parents will be notified at the mid-point in the reporting period for those students who're at risk of not meeting grade level standards (receiving a 1 or 2) and of possible retention.
Plan to attend both parent conferences which are held in the fall and spring of each year. It is very important that you stay informed about your child's progress towards the standards as well as those work habits that will support their college and career readiness. Please maintain consistent communication with your child's teacher and stay informed of your child's progress throughout the year. By working together, we can provide the highest quality education for our children.

Below you will find a great website for helping your child prepare for State SBAC testing this spring. The website can be accessed on by phone, tablet, or computer and is produced by the same company that creates the SBAC test each year.
